The project plans an investment of 500 million RMB, funded by the enterprise, for engineering construction and equipment acquisition, and will cover 80 mu, mainly producing propylene downstream products such as polypropylene and propylene oxide. Major facilities include production workshops, warehouses, laboratories, and office buildings. Key units include a feedstock pretreatment system to remove impurities, reactors such as catalytic cracking, propane dehydrogenation, or methanol-to-propylene reactors, and separation and refining systems. Propylene has a wide range of uses, mainly in the production of polypropylene—a high-performance thermoplastic resin used in plastic containers, auto parts, and fiber products (such as non-woven fabrics). Propylene is also used to make acrylonitrile (the main raw material for acrylic fibers and ABS resins) and propylene oxide (for polyurethane foam and many other chemical products). Yima City can provide the necessary conditions, having a D-level chemical park to accommodate the project.
