The project integrates the natural gas, methanol, and acetic acid facilities of the former Henan Coal Gas (Group) Co., Ltd. Yima Gasification Plant into Henan Kaixiang Fine Chemical Co., Ltd. The former gasification plant becomes the West Zone, and the original Kaixiang plant is the East Zone. The project effectively consolidates resources between the two zones, interconnecting carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and utilities for mutual supplementation and flexible adjustment, achieving balanced multi-product output to adapt to market changes. This diversification will enhance Kaixiang's profitability and competitiveness. The West Zone currently features coal slag gasifiers, low-temperature methanol washing for desulfurization/decarbonization, Air Liquide methane cryogenic separation, and methanol/acetic acid synthesis units. Adding a main substation and air separation unit will revive these facilities, increasing acetic acid output and laying the foundation for high-value derivatives like vinyl acetate and EVA. The total investment is 3.8 billion yuan, with 1.2 billion yuan sought from investors. The project targets annual production of 153 million Nm³ of natural gas, 500,000 tons of acetic acid, and 181,500 tons of byproducts, with expected revenue of 1.925 billion yuan. Pre-construction approvals are mostly complete, and investors are being actively recruited.
